Schoolfest 2019
Saturday, September 21, 12-4 PM
John Ericsson Middle School 126
424 Leonard Street (Bayard entrance), Brooklyn

What do you think of Saturday, September 21st for Town Square’s 12th  Annual Schoolfest?  Save the date for a day of education and enrichment!  Better, yet, sign up for your exhibitor spot or reserve your FREE admissions ticket.

Schoolfest is a beloved one-of-a-kind school fair for North Brooklyn families. Parents and students are invited to meet all types of schools from day care through high school (even college) at one place on one day. We'll have public, private, charter, magnet, community, dual language, gifted, etc...who'd have thought that there are so many?

Schoolfest offers a supportive networking and informational experience for parents and exhibitors. Schoolfest allows our neighborhood schools to share new information and projects with each other so that everyone may benefit. Most importantly, Schoolfest understands that parents can often be overwhelmed by school choices and admission processes. Schoolfest helps parents navigate through the confusion so that they can make the best choice for their child’s educational needs.

Update on Missing Personal Items from April's Greencycle Swap

We are delighted to share that Town Square reimbursed the volunteers for the value of their lost items. With your help, +30 friends and neighbors donated +$800.  Thank you!  The Town Square Board then made the decision to chip in the rest.

* * *
What happened? Civic-minded teenagers and preteens volunteered their time at our April Greencycle Swap at the Brooklyn Leonard Library. They spent an entire Saturday to help our community and local homeless shelters. Unfortunately, seven coats, a bag, a purse, a phone, an AirPod, Metrocards, etc (described below) went missing from behind our sign-in table. These students largely come from families in need themselves, and were devastated.

We appealed to our community through a newsletter, flyers and social media, reaching +25K people, hoping that this was an honest mistake and someone would return these items. Sadly, no. Friends and neighbors, many of you suggested that we start a donation campaign and here we are.

We'll leave the donation link open for a while longer: http://bit.ly/2vllbmt.  Please give whatever you can. Town Square is a tiny non-profit organization and your donation will be tax deductible.
